Vanadium has a very high melting point. It is malleable, hard and non-magnetic. It is not easy to oxidize in air and can be dissolved in hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid and aqua regia. Resistant to corrosion, it is also fairly stable in alkali, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. Vanadium is widely used in the form of iron vanadium, vanadium compounds and metal vanadium in metallurgy, aerospace, chemical and battery industries. In nature, vanadium rarely forms independent minerals, mainly occurring in vanadium titanium magnetite, phosphate rock, uranium-bearing sandstone and siltstone, in addition to a large number of vanadium in bauxite and carbon-containing substances (such as oil, coal).
