Indium is a silvery-white metal with a light blue luster, very soft, can be scratched with a fingernail, is malleable, ductile, and can be pressed into sheets. Indium metal is not oxidized by air at room temperature. Indium is slightly radioactive, so skin contact and ingestion should be avoided.
