China Controls the Export of Gallium and Germanium Related Items

On July 3, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce of China and the General Administrationof Customs issued the "Announcement on the Implementation of Export Control of Gallium and Germanium Related Items" (hereinafter referred to as the "Announcement").

The Announcement pointed out that in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Export Control Law of the People's Republic of China, the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, in order to safeguard national security and interests, The State Council has approved the decision to implement export control on gallium and germanium related items. Items that meet the relevant  characteristics shall not be exported without permission. It is implemented on August 1, 2023.
